Bankruptcies! Most IPs seem to consider these to be an ongoing problem, particularly once all obvious assets have been realised but there is a small ongoing income preventing you from closing your file.

 

Often this income is in the form of an annuity from a pension scheme which has been vested and – in many cases – is providing an income which is not much more than, or in some cases even less than, what you would normally expect to charge in annual fees. Now you can get rid of these cases by selling the right to the income to us in return for a one-off lump sum; you then reduce costs by closing these old files, and can make a final distribution to creditors. Simple!
